Row Zambezi Sculling Club is a international group of rowers raising money for clean water

In July 2024 an international team of RZSC rowers will row 600km of the Zambezi from Tete towards the Indian Ocean and then row 350km from the HCB Dam across Lake Cahora Bassa, leaving Mozambique and finishing our journey in Zambia.

This 20 day expedition will be the fourth and final leg of "RowZambezi", +3,500km of the Zambezi and tributaries rowed for clean water over 13 years.

Supporting our long term charity partner Village Water we are on water, for water.

The Zambezi River and Lake Cahora Bassa

The 2024 expedition is a 2 stage rowing expedition along the Zambezi and across Lake Cahora Bassa in Mozambique.

We depart from Tete in July, on the Zambezi heading towards the Indian Ocean. This stage of c 600km comprises days on the water covering between 40km and 100km, navigating crocs, hippos and sharks as we get to the final 250km stage.

Once we complete the river section we return upriver on water and then land to Tete where we will see a changeover of some crew before we depart for Cahora Bassa.

From the end of the river near the hydro dam we will row back ‘upstream’ toward Zambia, crossing the border on water with Zambia ahead, Mozambique to our right and Zimbabwe to our left. We are completing this final stage of our final expedition in Zambia where it all began in 2011.
